CCNA Cybersecurity Operations is a hands-on, delivered on a blended learning approach. It is a career-oriented course with an emphasis on practical experience to help students develop specialised skills to successfully handle the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of an associate-level Security Analyst working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC).

The course comprises of the following components:

  • 13 chapters of interactive content
  • quizzes, and chapter exams
  • Labs, and hands-on labs using virtual machine environment (PC required, no other equipment required)
  • Cisco® Packet Tracer activities (PT 7.0)
  • Certification practice exams, practice final, final exam and skills-based assessment

Delivery Format: Blended Learning using a combination of technology to offer both in-class and out-of-class learning experiences. This means that students can benefit from doing part of their learning online via our virtual classroom environment, and the other part through face to face with an instructor in one of our centres.

What You Will Learn

CCNA Cybersecurity Operations v1.1 covers knowledge and skills needed to successfully handle the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of an associate-level Security Analyst working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC). Upon completion of the CCNA Cybersecurity Operations v1.1 course, students will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Install virtual machines to create a safe environment for implementing and analysing cybersecurity threat events.
  • Explain the role of the Cybersecurity Operations Analyst in the enterprise.
  • Explain the Windows Operating System features and characteristics needed to support cybersecurity analyses.
  • Explain the features and characteristics of the Linux Operating System.
  • Analyse the operation of network protocols and services.
  • Explain the operation of the network infrastructure.
  • Classify the various types of network attacks.
  • Use network monitoring tools to identify attacks against network protocols and services.
  • Use various methods to prevent malicious access to computer networks, hosts, and data.
  • Explain the impacts of cryptography on network security monitoring.
  • Explain how to investigate endpoint vulnerabilities and attacks.
  • Evaluate network security alerts.
  • Analyse network intrusion data to identify compromised hosts and vulnerabilities.
  • Apply incident response models to manage network security incidents.

Certification and Careers

CCNA Cybersecurity Operations prepares students for entry-level security career opportunities in a Security Operations Centre and prepares for the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate Certification.
